Commercially packaged candy or treats may be distributed. Homemade or otherwise prepared food may not be distributed unless it is produced and served under all applicable Washington food-safety requirements.
A Washington Cottage Food Permit applies only to approved, low-risk foods made in the permit holder’s primary residential kitchen. Other food preparation or service may require approval or a temporary food-establishment permit from the local health jurisdiction. Each participant is responsible for obtaining every required permit before the event.
